Our expertise in dam construction throughout the Southern Hemisphere is second to none. Since 1954 we have constructed 83 dams – twice that of any other Australian contractor.
Through smart design and construction, our dam projects enhance the available supply of water while improving flood mitigation. During dam construction water flow is managed and controlled to minimise flood risks.
We built Australia’s highest dam wall, the Dartmouth Dam at 180 metres. We also built the largest dam by volume, the Talibingo Dam, with an embankment volume of 14.5 million cubic metres. We are currently completing Stage 3 of the Hinze Dam which will increase water supply to Gold Coast residents by a substantial 225 million litres a day. The upgrade raised the dam wall 15 metres to 108.5 metres to reduce the risk of major flooding in the lower Nerang catchment. Other facilities constructed as part of the project include a cafe, function room, offices and recreational amenities such as picnic areas, walking trails and a waterside park.
These integrated solutions contribute rich asset-bases for local communities. Providing and protecting vital water supplies for future generations are imperative and these projects contribute practically to these objectives.
