Melbourne Water and Thiess Services have been working collaboratively since 1993. The relationship-based contract was converted to the Aqua Civil Eco (ACE) Alliance in 2007 to deliver a broad range of civil maintenance and minor capital works across 12,800 square kilometres of metropolitan Melbourne and beyond.

The scope of maintenance and minor capital works services encompasses water transfer mains, pipe tracks, underground drains, wetlands, sedimentation traps, urban lakes, tidal gates, treatmentplants and trunk sewers, all supported by a 24/7 emergency response service.

In addition, the Alliance maintains the waterways of the Port Phillip and Western Port catchments. Thiess Services also provides multi-disciplined technical services to Melbourne Water, including asset management, technical advice and target cost estimates.
