Liebherr-Australia has commissioned Thiess for the design and construction of a special purpose crane manufacturing warehouse and maintenance facility including amenities, conference room, offices and factory floor space on a rectangular building envelope of approximately 127m x 40m in Erskine Park west of Sydney.

The proposed building will consist of a four-storey office complex with an additional underground parking level to accommodate approximately 25 cars. Additional parking will be located externally around the building.

The warehouse complex is set out in two parts and is based on a twelve (12) metre grid system. The first part located closest to the office complex is two (2) bay parts store area, with a mezzanine level located around four (4) metres above the ground floor level, with another two (2) levels above for storage of parts.

The operational warehouse complex consists of seven (7) twelve (12) metre wide bays. There is also an external structure to the east of the warehouse complex housing the fire services pump room and an area for a diesel fuel tank and other liquid storage such as grease and oils. The internal clear heights within the warehouse range from approximately eight (8) to fifteen (15) metres and will include a separate structure for the building and the internal cranes.
