Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade (MEM30305)
This qualification delivers the basic foundations and content for students to develop the skills and knowledge used in the engineering industry. This course is designed for a general fabrication tradesperson, there are specific apprenticeship programs for the traditional trade areas of boilermaking, sheetmetal working, patternmaking, surface finishing, welding, and casting and moulding. Students will learn how to apply safe work practices necessary for the safe use and maintenance of a wide range of tools and equipment generally used on-the-job.
These include:
- manual metal arc welders (MMAW)
- gas metal arc welders (GMAW)
- gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW )
- oxyacetylene welders
- angle grinders
